How Aligners Work
Believe it or not, Aligners have now been around for over 20 years!! Each year technology has improved to make Aligners work better, fit better and work faster. At Miller Orthodontics we utilize the most advanced technology -- 3D Digital scan , 3D CBCT Images and 3D Printing -- to ensure that we are at the leading edge in the field and delivering the absolute best results possible.
Dr. Miller has extensive training in Aligners, taking numerous courses and seminars, including the exclusive Master's Class program. With over nearly 1000 patients treated in our office with Aligners, we have the experience and expertise to transform your new smile!
Getting Started
At your complimentary new patient exam, your treatment coordinator will take a fast and comfortable 3D Digital scan of your teeth. The doctor will then go over a 3D treatment simulation to show you what your new smile will look like after Aligner treatment. Once all of your questions have been answered, we will get to work creating your aligners.
Behind the scenes our Dr. Miller and our specialized digital team will be ‘virtually’ moving your teeth and creating your new smile, utilizing the most current and effective protocols to achieve the very best clinical outcomes for our patients. We take pride in staying current and on the cutting edge with aligners!
Then What Happens?
Dr. Miller will work on your simulation setup with Invisalign or 3M to design your new smile. Once he determines how many sets of aligners you need, your custom aligners are created! These will be made of special clear material which provides a smooth and comfortable fit.
Patients are asked to wear their aligners for 22 hours per day, leaving time to eat and brush their teeth. The total number of aligners worn during treatment varies from patient to patient depending on their individual case and the movements required. Most patients require 2-3 series of aligners to achieve an A+ result.
As you wear your aligners, your teeth will gently and gradually shift into their new positions and will typically schedule check-ups every twelve weeks or so. Miller Orthodontics’ average Invisalign treatment time is currently 15 months and we are continually exploring ways to reduce that time, just for you!
